My Xbox 360 has a wired connection for internet. Today, our router "died" and a new one was set up. The cords have all been plugged back in, but the console just doesn't register or recognize anything has been plugged in. I've repeatedly unplugged and plugged, restarted, reset, and switched plugs. Nothing seems to work. Please help!

The actual message that comes on the screen is:
"You must have an Ethernet cord plugged into the console..."
or something along those lines. Problem is, I do have it plugged in.

You may have a bad network port in the console, I suggest calling support to see if they're troubleshooting can help. Honestly theres not much troubleshooting to be done, I would try a different ethernet cable in the console and thats about it, if it doesn't see the cable it most likely needs a repair.

Yeah, there was a storm. I figured that was what killed the router.

This also happened to me, but in my case the only thing damaged was the Ethernet port on my xbox. :/ I just spent 80 bucks on live and the Escalation map pack, too, which isn't easy to come by for me lmao.
