This Gamertag is already in use

I created an acount via xbox.com several months ago, and today when I was trying to set up Xbox Live via my 360 I get a message saying my gamertag is already in use every single time I try to log in using my E-Mail and Password used to create my account.

You have to use the download profile method, since you already created the account here on xbox.com. Click the link and follow the instructions under "Download your Xbox Live Profile".

What if my name here does not match my "Character" name, becuase I have changed that many times, I did not know this had to match that when I created this account

Hey OranShingar! Can you explain a bit more what you mean? By "Character" name do you mean Gamertag? Can you list out how many different Gamertags you've created and WLID accounts you've created. For example:
 

Gamertag A is linked to WLID A

Gamertag B is linked to WLID A

etc.
 

Make sure not to list any actual Gamertags or WLIDs for personal safety!
