Password Protection needed for Purchses. Period.

you are able to block purchases from accounts very simply. you would just have to go to the family settings and set the passcode. more specifically you would select the xbox live access option to set it so that you have to put in the code before making any purchase from the xbox market place

I don't see that as an option.  First, it won't even ley me implement family settings witnout running initial setup, which forces you to create a new xboxlive id, it does't let you use your existing profile. Second, I only see an option for a passcode to access xbox live not for purchases on xboxlive in account security.

I understand your frustration, and agree this is a feature that would be very beneficial. 

I would suggest posting up in the Xbox LIVE Wishlist/Feedback forum.

Actually the parental controls are overly prohibitive with their miniscule and laughable settings limitations and still do not allow the mere option of a purchasing password which would completely eliminate this issue.  And anyone whining about just do this or that is either obtuse or their self righteousness is blinding them.   I laughed at a friend of mine who had a purchase made by his dog when he went to grab a beer for crying out loud.  

It's real simple to me.   They'll either implement something worthwhile or they won't and I'll take my business elsewhere in the future.  Next gen consoles are right around the corner after all.  I'm sure the loss of one customer isn't that big a deal until the multitudes of others complaining about this same lack of an obvious feature permission start doing the same at which time they'll start backpeddling like they did on the constant connection and the X-Bone.

That's exactly the type of opinion we like to hear about in the Feedback Forums that Mister Ohnaka linked above you. Please feel encouraged to make a post there so it can be seen by the right eyes and be taken into account. =)

People have been asking for this feature since 2010 and citing exactly the same reasons and still nothing has been done about it on the XBOX 360 although it appears that on the XBOX ONE something may have been put in place.

It's utterly ridiculous that this has not been implemented and Microsoft would make a lot more money from me if they did impliment this protection because now i remove my card details and when one of my kids wants to get a texture pack, new game, addon or something like that i say no because it's too time consuming to do ... if I could just say OK I'll enter the PIN for you and take it out of your pocket money then my card would be registered on both my 360 consoles for all 4 of my kids.

Microsoft have got so big and greedy that they no longer think like real people, you either have to be entirely living in the MS world or outside altogether
