My days old 250 gig HD slim takes minutes before it logs on it jus sits there with the 360 logo FOR ever! 4-5 min
my old arcade Never had this problem..

My New 360 slim 250gHD takes for ever to log on!

Do you mean the first animated logo when you power up? try disconnecting the network cable. sometimes my xbox froze on that screen because it was busy trying to connect to Xbox Live. I disconnected it and it started up fine

yeah i guess it was jus the wifi its weeek! had to hardwire it again ( network )

or you could just goto settings and turn off the "automatically log on" feature
