MS iSCSI Initiator Service Error 1717

I cannot open any .doc files and get the message: "MS iSCSI Initiator Service Error 1717 - Interface is unknown" and also: "Windows cannot find (file name). Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again". I tried to uninstall the program (Microsoft Office Home & Student) but it won't uninstall. What's up?
