Cursor constantly "loading"

Recently my computer had restarted itself, I assumed after an update while I was sleeping. Maybe the power went off then on from a thunderstorm. Ever since, my cursor constantly has that circular "loading" icon as if it's trying to load or process something, and my computer seems to be performing slower. I checked the Task Manager but I'm not sure if there's a program running causing this. Please help if you can.

Answer
Yea you'd have to restart, but you should do a chkdsk, maybe when the computer was updating the power went out and messed up the update.

Open My Computer > right click on C: > Properties > Tools > Click Check Now, Run that, look for error,

Also if they doesn't work, you can do a system restore to a previous date before the windows update ( just get rid of that backdoor when you do it ) Press Start > type in system restore, Click it, Look for a date before those updates!
