Hi tnguyen875,

Are you having issues in installing this particular update or any other updates?
To resolve this issue, do the following:
a. Click on Start, type regedit in the search box.

b. On the registry editor window, navigate to the below key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\Setup]

(Note that if you have multiple instances of MSSQL installed, the reg key might be different for you)

c. Find the "Resume" (REG_DWORD) and change its decimal value from 1 to 0

d. Exit the Registry Editor.

e. Reboot.

f. Try to install the update again.

Hi tnguyen875,

If it was not you may be an application installed the SQL Server by you (Visual Studio, Sharepoint and Dynamics CRM does). And the applications tend to install the 32 bit version of the product (SQL Server Express) thats why you can't apply the update.  Please try to use the 32 bit version of the KB970892 Update.

Hope this help.
