Does not help. Unable to install, says the installer file cannot be found.

Hi,

Did you try right-clicking on the installer file and then selecting “troubleshoot compatibility”? If that doesn’t help, right click on the installer file, click on properties and then click on the compatibility tab as mentioned in the article. In the compatibility tab, set the compatibility mode to the previous compatible operating system.

If you face any issues while performing the above steps or if you get the same error stating that the installer file cannot be found, then the installer file that you downloaded might be corrupt. I would suggest you to download a fresh copy of the installer file and check.

Try this and let us know the results for further assistance.

Cheers,
Ben.

Hi! You have to disable driver signature enforcement. This is done on Windows 8 by going to the top right hand side of the screen and clicking on settings. then on "Change PC settings". Under General settings click on Advance startup. When the machine restrts you get the option to turn of driver signature enforcement. Do it. Once in windows again reinstall magicdisc and you will no longer get the mcdbus error, instead it will ask you to approve installing an unsigned driver. Alternately you can go to the Magic Disc install folder and right click on the mcdbus.inf file and click on install.  :)

Thank you this makes the most sense. I ended up going to the install folder and then executing the uninstall file. For the time being I am using Daemon Tools Lite.

The first method worked for me, by disabling driver signature enforcement at startup. However, to get to that option was quite a tedious process for me, was NOT a straightforward "click on Advance startup" as described. I had to trial and error to get to it.

Nevertheless, it works and I'd like to thank John J10 for his advice!

So how exactly does it go? I tried it and clicked on 'Refresh' and it said it was going to wipe out all of my apps so I cancelled everything.

What exactly was I supposed to choose then? I don't want to unnecessarily remove anything from my PC just because of trial and error.
