As per the description you have given, I understand that your computer shuts down frequently.
In order to assist you better please provide information on these questions:
1.
Are you able to boot to normal mode after receiving the error message?
2.
Have you made any recent software or hardware changes on the system?
3.
What is the make and model of computer?
I would like you to try out few methods to resolve the issue:
Method 1:
If you are unable to boot in normal mode, let’s perform an automatic repair booting from the Windows installation disc and check if that helps.
a. Insert the installation DVD or USB and boot Windows 8 from it.
b. In the
‘Windows setup’ page select the ‘language to install’, ‘Time and currency format’ and the ‘keyboard or input method’ and click on
‘next’.
c. Click on
‘Repair your computer’ and select ‘Troubleshoot’.
d. Click on
‘Advanced options’ and select ‘Automatic Repair’
and select the operating system.
Method 2: Check if the issue occurs in
safe mode:

If the issue does not persist in safe mode perform clean boot.
Method 3: Clean Boot:
Perform clean boot to identify if any 3rd party service is causing this issue:

Note: After performing the troubleshooting steps in clean boot, follow Step 3
from the link to start the computer to Normal start up mode.
