As per the description you have given, I understand that your computer shuts down frequently.

In order to assist you better please provide information on these questions:

1.      Are you able to boot to normal mode after receiving the error message?

2.      Have you made any recent software or hardware changes on the system?

3.      What is the make and model of computer?

I would like you to try out few methods to resolve the issue:

Method 1:

If you are unable to boot in normal mode, let’s perform an automatic repair booting from the Windows installation disc and check if that helps.

a. Insert the installation DVD or USB and boot Windows 8 from it.

b. In the ‘Windows setup’ page select the ‘language to install’, ‘Time and currency format’ and the ‘keyboard or input method’ and click on ‘next’.

c. Click on ‘Repair your computer’ and select ‘Troubleshoot’.

d. Click on ‘Advanced options’ and select ‘Automatic Repair’ and select the operating system.

Method 2: Check if the issue occurs in safe mode:

If the issue does not persist in safe mode perform clean boot.

The computer is a laptop Toshiba C850D . It will boot to normal after error,i will lose wifi .

I downloaded movies from a paid web site called yaboon.com

Windows would not play the hq 1080 0r 720 movies ,so I did download a video player app this app would play movies without sound. I have uninstalled this app

My wife downloaded a game called dream day wedding , trial version .

I also removed Nortons antivirus and installed Kaparsky after the incident .
