New Asus: Unidentified Network No Internet Access (can't connect to the wifi anywhere)

I just bought a new Asus laptop and it can't get internet access.
We have wifi, and I go to connect to it, I type in the password, it works, I'm connected, but it says "Unidentified Network, No Internet Access", so I can't get online.
All the other computers in the house work with the wifi.
I also went to another house with wifi, and it still did the same thing.

How do I fix this so I'm able to get online?
I really need help because I need my computer for school :/

It says it's a public network, but I'd like to change it to my home network, but it's not allowing me to do that.

I'm not sure what information anyone would need to help me but here's this:

Hi,

1.What is the error message you get when trying to access any website?

2.What is the security software installed on the computer?

Method 1.

Choosing a network location: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Choosing-a-network-location

Method 2.

Using the Network troubleshooter in Windows 7: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Using-the-Network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

Method 3.

Try to set your computer in clean boot state and check if the same issue occurs. Setting your system in clean boot state helps in identifying any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7:

Note: After clean boot troubleshooting step, follow Step 7 in the provided link to return your computer to Normal startup mode.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your feedback.

It says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
What you can try:
Diagnose Connection Problems

When I Diagnose Connection Problems it says:
Investigate Router or broadband modem issues-Did that, didn't work
So I clicked "skip this step"
It says Problems found
The default gateway is not available

I haven't installed any security software yet, but it came with "Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security"

Method 3 worked well for me. I installed a pre W7 software package and a service which did come with it, caused the problem and with method 3 I identified this service.

This happened to me also, none of the suggestions from technical work.  Only way we were able to reconnect to the Internet was to reset to factory settings.
