Q: What happens if I change the hardware configuration of my Windows 10 device? Need More Clarification

Q: What happens if I change the hardware configuration of my Windows 10 device?

A: If the hardware configuration of your Windows 10 device changes significantly (e.g. motherboard change) Windows may require re-activation on the device. This is the same experience as prior versions of Windows (e.g. Windows 7 and Windows 8.1).   The free upgrade offer will not apply to activation of Windows 10 in such scenarios where hardware changes reset Activation.

this needs some clarifying.....

i myself am a hardcore gamer. i built my PC from the ground up on my own. these are my specs:

i5-4690k
8 GB RAM

290x Tri-X

Asus z97m plus motherboard

I don't plan to be upgrading things like my CPU, Video Card or Motherboard in the near future but you never know.

what happens if my 290x is not giving me my 1080 60 FPS juice that i rely on and find myself having to upgrade my 290x for a 980 or 390/390x or even worse having to swap out my motherboard to support crossfire/sli config.

what happens with my free copy of windows 10?

this is something that not only worries me but there are plenty of people like me who are just as worried as i am.

like i said i don't plan on upgrading in the foreseeable future but i would like to know what happens if i ever did.
