Windows 7 File Recovery

I'm attempting to create an image backup of my 128Gb Surface Pro to an external USB hard drive using 'Windows 7 File Recovery'.  I'm getting the following error

'The backup was not successful. The error is: Windows Backup skipped backing up system image because one of the critical volumes is not having enough free space. Free up some space by deleting unnecessary files and try again. (0x81000033).'

I've tried backing up to a networks share as well.  Also the same error message.

Anyone else experiencing this error message?

There is another huge thread about this already. Windows 7 File Recovery is currently non-working on the Surface Pro and Microsoft may not be updating it for the Surface Pro.

You will need to seek a third party vendor for this function. Some have had success with Paragon and Acronis.

**I have posted a solution to this here. It is a very long process but thus far, it is the only solution.**
