Outlook keeps opening Hyperlink in E-mail Locally

Hi,

Hope someone could help. I have Microsoft office outlook 2010 SP2 in a windows 8.1 64bit computer. Google Chrome and IE were used for internet, but \I kept IE as default program. I have a problem with the hyperlinks in the E-mails when using Outlook. All the links will be opened locally in IE as "C:\Users\Carson\AppData\......." instead of going online. But when I set the Google Chrome as default program, all the links will work correctly and go directly online. I've already re-installed/Reset IE, still have the same problem. I hope I could set IE as default (for the Metro), any suggestion?

Hello Carson,

Provide the complete error message you receive when you try to open hyperlinks in Outlook 2010 when Internet Explorer is set as default.

You may run the fix it available in the article mentioned below and check if that helps:

If you are using 64 bit operating system of Windows 8.1 then save the ‘Fix it’ on desktop before running it and check if that helps.
