Problem adding alias to shared mailbox

I have an existing shared mailbox and I want to add another alias to it. In the Admin panel I navigate to shared mailboxes, select the mailbox and select Edit. I type the name of the alias and select the domain and click Add. The alias that then appears below is the name I typed but with another domain from the list. This happens regardless of the domain I select from the dropdown list.

The email address I want to use as an alias does not exist anywhere else and I don't get any error message. This is the first time I have encountered this problem. Is anyone else having this issue?

Answer

Yes, I can reproduce this. You can report the issue directly via the Feedback link in the portal. I'll also flag it with some contacts...

As a workaround, why dont you simply do it from the Exchange Admin center? Or via PowerShell?
