Skype always online

Well your Xbox is always on unless you unplug it. You can set your status in the app to offline when you are done.

I am annoyed by this as well. Unplugging it doesn't matter as it has a timer of three days before it shows that you're offline.And to Baza you can set yourself to offline but im going to check if this is a loophole to force it to make it you be offline in the background. .I suggest people post feedback in this thread and it has more information on this topic.

I wonder if that would even work. You sign in when you appear online which would reset the 3 day timeout when you go to appear offline.But what happens after you turn the xbox off when you had set Skype to appear offline? Would it revert to appearing online

There's no "fix" because it's working as designed. The Skype app can't tell the difference between not running and the console being turned off (like a lot of other platforms, there's no event when this happens), so, in order to continue sending you notifications and to enable you to receive calls while Skype is not running (but your console is turned on), you remain online to your contacts.

Unfortunately it keeps you online when the console is off with a timeout of 3 days until it actually shows you offline.

If you want to appear offline before that timeout, you can change your presence to "invisible".

FWIW: This is the same behaviour (and timeout) as on the Windows 8 client.

That is stupid! I want to be online when xbox is on, offline when xbox is off! Is that so difficult? My ipad, iphone, pc and imac can do this, why not the xbox? Please fix it, all my friends are angry with me, because i dont pick up their calls. Ghey think i am online, but all my devices are turned off! Please fix it!

Maybe autoset the skype status to online when turning on xbox, and autoset to invisible when turning off. Tat would be ok

I agree with the general feeling here. This is ridiculous. I use Skype for a mix of business and personal use and all of my business contacts think that I am are always online and ping me through the night (I work with many different countries).

I am a strong believer in IM etiquette. I only want to be Online when I am actually there. After all it is 'Instant Message' and if I'm not there to respond then it's not instant.

At the moment I have to uninstall the app on my XBOX when I am not using it which is a bit of a joke...

Is it still always online? I haven't checked my Skype thread in awhile.
