Mass Effect continues beyond the trilogy...

This is good news to me. It means more stories and more possible genres for Mass Effect.

Cool. :) I love the ME universe. it has so much potential!

PS. If they really want to use Kinect that badly, give me a game where I can be an asari commando or something and use biotic powers like a boss

Being an EA franchise it was inevitable that the Mass Effect IP would continue beyond Shepard's trilogy.

[/quote]To be fair, that's more of an Activision/Ubisoft thing these days.

more just activision, I mean when was the last Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six? also the only franchises EA puts out every year are NFS and the sports titles (the bulk of their profits Im sure). on its other franchises (C&C for one) usually takes 2-2.5 years between releases.

also (this is towards Chyron) whats wrong with a 2 year development cycle? first off you get more content to gamers (what we want) and it doesn't hamper the developers ability to make the game considering you can start development on game y while finishing game x.

I didn't imply it was a bad thing did I? I fully expect after ME3's launch another ME game within 18 months. That or a another Dragon Age. I think many developers are moving toward shorter cycles, its just that way now.  I'd like more ME, its always high quality.

Well to be fair the effect of a shorter development time can be shown quite well by Dragon Age 2.

Look at how the shorter development time resulted in lack of party customisation and hugely recycled environments, all combined with a hugely disjointed storyline.

Oh sorry we are meant to believe all that was a stylistic design choice aren't we.

There are a lot of EA games I like but the worst thing Bioware have done was sell control to them.

While i'll miss Shepard, and it won't feel the same without him, I think it's a good idea to continue and expand the universe. Like said above though, don't spit them out every year or two.
