As the story progresses you'll find out but yeah, it's an obvious twist.

Wasn't so obvious to me,i just thought they'd got the wrong voice actor for him :D I read a review of the game beforehand too,and it mentioned one of the voice actors sounded out of place on an important character,clever of the reviewer to say it like that,didn't give the game away.

Interesting lot these Pirates aren't they. James Kidd just reminds me of a Cockney English kid. I wouldn't take him for being a girl?

It's not anything like a cockney accent though! After the first line spoken she sounded like a twenty something woman from up north!

Eh guess it shows how much I know about mother England anymore. Been many generations since my family lived there. So you think he sounds like a Scottish women?

Lol, i think unless u live in the UK, you won't detect regional accents, (I'm from Suffolk, UK, but most my family live in the states, so we have this discussion a lot!). But no, the voice actor for 'James kidd' is most definitely a woman, speaking in a Northern dialect. Not Scottish, but Possibly Leeds or somewhere.  If you met a cockney and a northerner in a pub, you'd soon tell the difference :-)

Ah ok. Yea I have never been to UK even though all of my ancestors are English and Scottish/Irish. I am wondering more what accent Edward has. The way he uses 'mate' a lot he could be mistaken for Australian like me but I know Australia wasn't even founded back when this game takes place.

It is a pita being in the uk,hard enough figuring out what your neighbours are saying to you nevermind other regions.Can barely understand myself sometimes:D

Hard to say which regional brittish accent Edward has, but certainly sounds southern England. Referring to pals as 'mate' is definitely normal though. We probably say 'mate' nearly as often as you Aussies, (but not quite!)

It would make sense that Edward was British. Blackbeard and most the other pirates except probably Calico Jack (he was Cuban) all seem to be from the UK.
