GTA 5 sign in alert problem.

Recently, I've been having trouble playing GTA 5. I noticed many people having storage alerts, but I'm having sign in alerts. It started a few days ago. Before that it worked normally. Here's my problem, I load up the game you know the part in loading when the game flashes between different pictures of GTA 5 after few seconds of starting it. Right before that a alert screen pops up for me saying something about me needing to be signed in to my account even though I am to have access to stuff. It gives me a yes and no option, but whatever I press on my controller nothing happens, besides the guide button. I have to press the guide button to go back to dashboard and try it again. The thing is it does work, but it's random. I have to keep trying till it decides to work. Just curious am I the only one with this problem? I couldn't find anyone with it, and is there anything that can fix this? Any help will be much appreciated.

G'day ew! Sorry to hear about the gaming troubles. Is GTA V the only game that prompts you to sign in or does this happen in any other games?

Let's start with your profile:

  • Either delete your profile or move it to another storage device, like a USB flash drive, and remove that storage device.
  • Clear the cache 3 times.
  • Restart the console by turning it off and on.
  • Redownload your profile from Xbox Live.
  • Launch GTA V.


After those steps, does the game still prompt you to sign in? Let us know how it goes, and we can go forward from there.

Oh noes! Sorry to hear that.

Just to be sure, are you still having this happen today? Yesterday we had a service alert active for a couple of hours that had to do with connectivity and parties.

If you're able to, try saving your profile to a different storage device, like a USB flash drive. It can either be downloaded from Xbox Live again or moved from your hard drive.

I tried it yesterday. I'll give it a shot again tonight. I'll try the old method, and if that don't work I'll go with this new method. I'll come back to let you know. Thanks again!

If it's working better from your USB drive, try using it exclusively from there for a while to see if that is consistent. Also, you may want to check your hard drive for any corrupt files marked with a yellow "!" just in case! If you see any, delete them and clear the cache.
