Xbox One won't wake up from standby mode (without hard restart)

I'm experiencing this about once per day:

1. Attempt to start up the system, say via the power button (since no other method seems to work)

2. Kinect does not light up.

3. TV remains black.

4. Xbox plays the 'power down' sound.

I can keep pressing the power button over and over and it just plays the power down sound, but never actually powers down.

I can insert and eject DVDs, but get no other response from the system.

The only way to continue is by holding down the power button for a hard-reset.

Is anyone else experiencing this? I want to know if this is a known issue that'll be fixed with an OS update, or if I should throw the device in the middle of the street.

I should also mention that both the console and power brick have a white light.
