XBox 360 250 GB Hard Drive Not Showing Up

So I installed a new XBox 360 250 GB Hard Drive today and it doesn't show up in the list of memory devices in the System Settings. I followed the instructions listed on this site and removed and re-installed it and it still doesn't show up. Is there something else I can do except just removing and re-installing again because I've tried that 3 times. I've made sure to press it in so that it is connected, heard the click, pressed a little more just to make sure it is connected. I also tried installing a game on the hard drive as well to see if it just wasn't showing up in the list but it just gives me a message saying that there's no valid device installed. Is this on a new Xbox 360 S model or an original-shape Xbox 360? Are you able to obtain another hard drive to test with, and has another hard drive been used with this Xbox before?

It's the model listed here: www.amazon.com/.../B003O6JKLC

I presume that's the S model since it only has the one disk drive on the front. I don't have another hard drive to test with and another hard drive has not been used with the Xbox before.

Hello! Was this an officially licensed Microsoft Xbox 250GB Hard Drive? If so, we would recommend returning it to your retailer for exchange. If it is not, then that may be your issue.
