want to determine if a xbox has been banned want to buy

want to buy a used xbox but first want to determine if it has been banned

can i give you serial# or other data that could tell me so I dont make or have a problem.

The person doesnt have currently have active internet but would be the best approach

to this problem.

Sorry, you can't do it that way.  The best way to find out is to plug it into the net.  If the person selling it does not have internet (sorry, but in this day and age I find that hard to believe) have him bring it to your house to test.  If he refuses, I would reconsider buying it from him.

It's always best to buy new anyway.

even then you cannot tell just cause it goes online today does not mean tomorrow, a week, or even a month, or year go by before it is banned by MS for something that would make them ban it.  that is why it is always, ALWAYS the best to buy a NEW one and since you can get a slim 4 gig for 199 (or less if you find a deal in a store or online), why would anybody want to buy a used 360.  I only bought a used one in the past as the guy who bought it new was a good friend of mine and he never even had it setup for online play and was a casual gamer so I know he would not tamper with it.
