Removing account from console

Hi, I added my live account to a friends xbox. He sold the xbox and told me that he formated it before selling it. I would like to know if this will cause me any problem adding my account to a future xbox or formatting it is enough. I kind of remember reading somewhere that I had to deauthorize the xbox or something like that
