When i go to the fileshare it will not let me search or even select any options. There is a lock symbol next to the only 3 options available. I have an xbox360 slim. I'm not given all of the options other people have to search gamertags and download gametypes and variants. I've cleared my system cache, and redownloaded my profile. My security settings should allow it. I'm not sure what else to do. Any help would be appreciated =]

I cannot access or search with the Halo 4 file share

Its your security settings on console. Go to your Xbox dashboard, select your profile, edit profile, privacy settings. now set your user content to everyone.

This is a problem i had for a long time as well, halos back to three need a hard drive like the one on the original xbox 360 or some kind of memory device to save maps or even use most file share features. If you do have one of these than your problem might be solved by the fellow above me.

I am also having the problem... this post was old, but I found it. I have 3 locked options for file browser... according to this, I should set my privacy settings to something, but it is off... and I have a hard drive. If anyone reads this again, please can you help me out? [6/17/13]
