Disc keeps spinning when not playing

Curious as to why my game will continue to spin when im playing it even tho its installed to the HD? I understand it must take a minute or two to read the disc, which sometimes it does slow down and eventualy stop, but other times it sounds like it going as fast as it can and it doesnt stop until i eject the disc and restart the game(which is BS and gets very annoying). Other times when im not playing a game but say using the Youtube app, the disc will do the same thing, it spins as if im trying to load the game and play but im not. Why does it do this? this is my 3rd xbox 360 ive purchased(all new) and on my last xbox it was the disc tray that went and wouldnt read games anymore so if possible id like to avoid the fate of my last xbox and find a reason as to why this disc spins when its NOT suppose to!?

Yes ive tried deleting the game and installing it again and the same goes for the apps.

Is there any scratches on the disk or is it damaged?

If you're getting this with all games, it might be your diskdrive is on the way out, or already gone.

Is your Xbox still under warranty?

If so, you can request a shipping box here.

If you do plan to send it off, remember to remove YOUR HDD FIRST!!!

Alternatively, before you try the above steps, you could try calling Xbox Support and they will run through some troubleshooting steps with you. Contact them here: support.xbox.com/.../contact-us

Good luck, I hope it's a dirty disk rather than a broken diskdrive as that would cost a lot.

Anyway, hope I helped.

No the disc is in new condition, and if thats the case microsoft can kiss my business goodbye.  And all of the rest of your generic info or help(if u wanna call it that), could be found on any questions about anything. I along with a majority of Microsofts customers know that calling microsoft support gets you nothing but a pounding headache.. No i dont plan on sending it off, id rather go *** away another 300 dollars and make the switch to sony

Hey IVIakaveli! Sorry to hear about the issue. If you aren't having any other trouble beyond the disc tray making noise, I'd say hold off on that repair. Have you tried changing up the placement of your console? If it's standing up, try lying it horizontally and vice verse. Also make sure that it's well ventilated! Do you notice an improvement? Let us know!
