Controllers won't connect to Xbox 360 S

I have an Xbox 360 S and I can't get any of my controllers to connect to it. I have three wireless controllers and one wired controller. I've tried re-syncing my wired controllers to the console and they still would not connect, I tried plugging them in with the play & charge kit and they still would not connect. I also tried using my wired controller and it would not connect either.

Did you use the sync button on both the controllers and the xbox when you tried to connect them?
