Account not fully recovered.

Tried signing into account, and message said "Account not fully recovered". So I went to recover gamer tag and sis the necessary things, but when it got up to downloading the profile it stopped and said "sign up unavailable" or something along the lines of that. Please help.

If you go to System Settings -> Memory -> (where you saved it) -> Gamer Profiles do you see your Tag there? Or any 'Corrupted Profiles'?

If yes, delete and corrupted profiles, and move any profiles with your name on it to a different storage device and then try again (after you've removed the secondary storage device)

I can also confirm this method works; just recovered to fix a corrupted profile myself...thx for the tip.

Is this  thread still open? If so, im having the same issue, i cannot fully recover my xbl profile, i have tried the steps outlined above and a few others i thought might have helped like clearing cache and even formatting my drive(after backing it up of course)

Yet i cant get onto live, i always get prompted with the message "xbox live signup is unavailable"

I am having the same issue except I am just now trying to recover my gamertag and it is downloading, but is taking forever... the download bar has moved an inch in an hour. Why is it taking so long? I deleted my corrupted  profile and cleared my cache, and started over and it is doing it again... any help out there?

Miner: Can you confirm that you are unable to recover, or just unable to connect to LIVE? Have you tried other consoles? Can other accounts recover on your console?
