Dr Watson for Windows (Microsoft Application Error Reporting) -
We have no chance of telling you what caused the error message without
details!

There are a couple of possibilities -
1) the computer might be infested with malware.
when was the last time you ran a full system scan of your computer with
up-to-date AV software? do it now!
Download and run Malwarebytes Anti-malware from www.malwarebytes.org --
install it, update it, and run it on a Quick scan of the PC - delete
everything it finds.
2) a system file is missing - do you have an XP CD, or merely a Recovery
disk/partition?
Try this anyway - Open a Command Prompt window
at the prompt, type
SFC /SCANNOW
The System File Checker will run, and correct any mismatched files
(hopefully!) - it may ask for the Windows disk. If it does, then insert the
Windows XP disk. If you only have Recovery media, then you're stuck - but
use the options to cancel the disk request so that it resumes scanning.
Doing this means that the errors get logged properly, and we may be able to
do something about it later (if there's not too many!).
3) Event Viewer may have an entry for the error - have a look and see if it
mentions specific files.
4) Dr Watson makes a log of what it does in the following folder-
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson
You can open DrWatson in interactive mode by going to Start >Run
type
DRWTSN32
and click OK
read the Help files

5) turn off Dr Watson - it doesn't normally run unless the user asks.
However, since it's identified a problem, it'd be a good idea to fix the
problem first! :)
