New Found Hardware Wizard pops up three times everytime the computer is started. I must cancel it three times to get the pop up windows to go away.

I tried to load new HP printer software (for a new printer). A window kept popping up saying it was not compatable with MS XP. I worked with HP to try to load it but it did not work. I have since reloaded the old printer (which works fine). There is no HP program in the computer currently; but the Found New Hardware Wizard keeps poping up.

How do I get the Found New Hardware Wizard  to stop poping up at startup?

I had this exact problem and couldn't find a solution to it, Microsoft was completely useless in this case as well. No listing of such error.

I even deleted and reloaded sp3 as I was told this would fix it, but it didn't. I found the solution...

Here it is....

CLICK "START",

RIGHT CLICK "MY COMPUTER"

SELECT "MANAGE"

CLICK "DEVICE MANAGER"

CLICK "VIEW"

SELECT "SHOW HIDDEN DEVICES"

GO DOWN LIST AND FIND "PORTS" [COM & LPT]

EXPAND AND YOU SHOULD SEE AN "ERROR ICON, UNKNOWN HARDWARE"

RIGHT CLICK, SELECT "DELETE"

if you don't see an error message there, look for "PRINTER" in the same list, and do the above action, remove unknown hardware error.

THIS WILL SOLVE THE NEW FOUND HARDWARE ISSUE. My computer now works fine...
