There is not enough disk space to create the volume shadow copy of the storage location 0x80780119

Original Title: Create system image error - not enough disk space ???

I'm trying to create a system image on my reformatted external hard drive with more than 400 GB of free space. I receive the following error message:  "There is not enough disk space to create the volume shadow copy of the storage location.... 0x80780119" Backup should take up to 82 GB of disk space. I have more then enough space available.  External hard drive is in NTFS formatted. My internal hard drive has more than 150 GB free. Windows 8 64 bit

Any suggestions?

Hi Mohammad,

I thought it's kind of a joke to do check disk on my brand new Microsoft Surface, but I said myself it worth to try. It worked!! You are a genius, thanks man.
