How do I reboot Windows 8 Pro into Safe Mode?

I have a Steelseries MERC gaming keyboard, an Asus Crosshair IV Formula motherboard, and I've been advised to perform a full scan with my Kaspersky PURE, Malwarebytes and Superantispyware in Safe Mode.  I don't know how to reboot Windows 8 Pro into Safe Mode.  I tried pressing the F4, F6 and F8 keys.  I suppose I can do a cold restart but I prefer doing this correctly.  Thank you.

At your login screen click the power icon which gives you options: Sleep, Shut down, Restart.
Hold down shift key and click restart.

On restart you get a blue screen with options.

Click on Troubleshoot ->Advanced Options ->startup settings-> Enable safemode

If you want to enable F8 like previous versions run the following command as admin:

bcdedit /set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu yes
