Go to Device Manager and check if you have a yellow exclamation mark next to your webcam.

Also check for the error code listed for devices in Device Manager.

Method 1:

Uninstall the device(webcam) in Device manager. Follow these steps:

1.    Go to Start and type in Device manager in the search box.

2.    From the list of devices, select your webcam.

3.    Right click on the device and select uninstall.

4.    Restart your computer.

Check if the drivers get installed automatically after you restart your computer. If it doesn’t get installed, then download the drivers for your webcam for Windows 7 from the manufacturer’s website and install in your computer.

Method 2:

Also download the latest updated drivers for the webcam by visiting the following link:

http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html

Also run Windows Update and check if it downloads the update.
