I recently sent in a broken tablet for repairs, and instead of giving me back my old one they gave me a new model. This was fine. Except for the fact that I was not aware I had to uninstall the old driver software, and now no matter what I do, the new driver software does not show up. I continually get the error message of "Tablet Driver Not Found," and the tablet acts like a mouse rather than a pen tablet. I have repeatedly uninstalled everything that has Wacom's name in it, and nothing has changed.
I was on call with Wacom customer service for two hours. They pointed me to the downloadable drivers, the legacy drivers, turning off and on the driver in services.exe. We were able to download it onto my parent's XP Home desktop, but none of the art programs I need are on that computer and frankly, I want the tablet to work on my laptop.
I also reverenced this article and did everything that was detailed there. The tablet still does not work in clean boot mode. I couldn't find the tablet in devmgmt.msc and in the effort of trying to be thorough, accidentally uninstalled my touchpad's driver thinking it might be my tablet.
I think it goes without saying that I am beyond frustrated at this point. I just want my tablet to work on my laptop. Please help!
