How to format C drive and save on D drive

Please check which drive is marked primary and active:
1. Right click on computer and click on Manage.
2.Now go to Disk Management.
3. Now check what is written next to D drive, it should be System, Boot, Page File, Crash Dump, If this is next to C drive, we might need to change it.

Enable the Hidden admin account by running the following command:
1. Go to start and type cmd.exe
2. In the program pane right click on cmd.exe and choose run as administrator.
3. Type the following command in the command prompt:
    net user administrator /active:yes
4. You should see a message that the command completed successfully. Log out, and you’ll now see the Administrator account as a choice.
Try saving  the text document the now.

You can try formatting  the drive in safe mode.
Perform the following steps to do so:
1. Restart your computer.
2. When the computer starts you will see your computer's hardware being listed. When you see this information start to gently tap the F8 key on your keyboard repeatedly until you are presented with the Windows 7 Advanced Boot Options screen.
3. Using the arrow keys, select the Safe Mode option you want.
4. Then press the enter key on your keyboard to boot into Windows 7 Safe Mode.
5. When Windows starts you will be at a typical logon screen. Logon to your computer and Windows 7 will enter Safe mode.
6. DTry formatting the drive now

For the second issue please check the permissions assigned to the D drive:
1. Right click on the drive.
2. Go to Properties and click on Security tab.
3. Place a check mark below allow boxes and remove the checkmark if any under deny.
4. Click Apply and Ok
5. Try saving a notepad file now.
