New IIS Version in Windows 10 Build 10041 not Recognized as Greater than IIS 7, Preventing URL Rewrite 2.0 from Installing

I can't install URL Rewrite 2.0 on Windows 10. Build 10041 as the installer does not detect the new version of IIS as > than version 7.

Not sure if this is related but when I go to Help > About Internet Information Services from within IIS, it says "Microsoft Windows Version 6.2 (Build 9200)" above the line where it says IIS (Version 10.0.10041.0).

Here's a screen grab of the error I get. As IIS URL Rewrite Module 2 is a Microsoft product, clearly something broke in where this new version of IIS reports its version number for Module Installers to check for...

I understand that you are unable to install IIS URL rewrite on your computer as it shows the version required should be greater than 7.0.

I suggest you to remove IIS and add it again and see if it helps.

Follow the steps below to remove and add IIS feature:

1. Press Windows key + R
2. Type appwiz.cpl
3. Click on Turn Windows features on or off
4. Uncheck the box which has Internet Information Services
5. Click Ok and restart the computer.

After following above steps, please re-enable the Internet Information Services and restart the computer and try installing the application.
