If I deleted my Skype/microsoft account a year ago did it delete all my history off the Microsoft servers?

I heard Microsoft is keeping our data even after we delete our accounts. I deleted my Skype account and Microsoft account over a year ago. I heard our conversations and old emails are stored on your guys server forever... is this true? 

When does our data delete?

Microsoft will wait 60 days before permanently deleting accounts in case you change your mind or need to access something before it's gone.

So, if its more than a year, then its gone for good.

This but this isn't really what I asked. I heard they keep our data in the cloud even after we delete our account?

No, they don't do that. Once its closed, its gone, its gone.
