xbox scratching games

Hi all I'm new here,hope this is in the right place

my xbox 360(it is the white 'pro' console early model)has scratched 2 games in the last 60 months one time the xbox was vertical and the other it was horizontal.Both times it scratched two rings in the disc one on the outer and one on the inner part of the disc.Anything that can be done to prevent this?

For best results, be sure to keep your console horizontal, on an even, stable surface. Also, if there's a crack anywhere on the disc (including the inner ring), it can cause this issue to occur as well.
