Why did they charge me for points that i never ordered?

I got an e-mail earlier saying that my purchase had been accepted, thing is i never ordered any points.

I know that the gold membership renews automatically but i didn't think it automatically purchased points too, anyone know how i can stop it from doing that as i don't want to buy anymore.

Also, is there anyway i could get a refund for the points, as i never intended to buy them and was unaware that it did this automatically as i was never informed that this would happen. I'd appreciate it if someone could help me as i can't afford to be spending money on points that i ultimately have no use for.
