Charged $9.99 a month without any notification.

Dear Xbox Live,

In December 23, 2011, I signed up for a $2 promotion after my year subscription expired. Well today I was looking at my bank statements and realize that there was a $9.99 reoccuring charge on the second of every month for the past 5 months accumulating a total of $50. After calling Customer Service it was then pointed out in my last confirmation email from December 23, 2011 in the mist of the chaos of the email that a $9.99 charge would occur monthly. I am pissed. I have been a loyal member since 2008 and I never has issues until today or in retrospect the last 5 months. Hell, I could have bought a year for that price. I feel like this was a shady thing to do.

Especially since I never got a automatic confirmation email about the charge. However you guys send a confirmation email when I spend $5 for MS Points. Whats up with that?

As well since I called the nice Customer Service rep she informed me that she could refund $10 back today...however terminating  my Xbox Live Account while on the phone with her.

She told me that I should go to the forum and tell QA about my situation. I am extremely disappointed for being grossly overcharged and in the end having my service cut off. Here is my reference number 1176302302

Also I don't understand why she would have a limited view of my account and therefor limiting her ability to fully fulfill her obligation of customer service.

Thanks,

Joe

When you sign up for a promotion it has a renewal on them like all subscriptions, this states on the subscription and to cancel it you have to call suppport or do it through the website.

These are also non refundable, the agent went out of there way to give you $10 back.

I understand your frasturation but I can only say Caveat emptor.

-

The auto renewal terms are inside the ToS when you agreed to the promotion. These type of terms also applies to everyday services eg mobile subscription, internet services, loan, etc.

-

It's up to us (the buyer) to keep track and  the provider (seller) is not obliged to keep track for us.
