Setting up a Second XBOX 360 in Bedroom

Hi, I have a question for anyone.

I just purchased a NEW SLIM  xbox 360 with 320 Gig harddrive that i like to put in the bedroom.   But i would like to keep my original one in the living room.

My question is that,  Would i be able to keep all the  DLC, GAME saves, PAID ARCADE GAME, etc etc  on BOTH systems?  So as to if i am in the living room i can use my Profile "DOGROX1"  on it.. and  play  GOW3, MW3, BF3  etc etc.  And then when i go to the bedroom  I will still be able to play them as normal?

IF this is possible, how would i be able to do that?!  I ALSO  know that transferring files from OLD SYSTEm to NEW system will NOT keep the files on the old one.

Any advice would be appreciative!

Thanks,

 Dog

Hi, I Think you can´t do that, the information only can be in one device, because your profile only can be load in one console, you can´t open your account at the same time in both; and you can´t make a copy of your information as you say. I have a question, I want to purchase a new slim xbox 360, wath happend if i don´t transfer the information to the new one, wath happend?? and how can I do it??

thank´s

No i dont want to play both at the same time. why would i  want to play both consoles at the same time?    NO  I am just saying that i want to play  the living room one during the day when i have freinds over .. and  use the  Bedroom one when i am  laying down at night  so i dont have to keep moving the living room one to the bedroojm all the time.   So NO i would ONLY be playing ONE console at a time;.

Hey there Dog! You can download your content to both of these consoles, but there is some limitations here. For example, if you purchase an item on your living room console, than any user can access the content at any time. If you then download it to the bedroom console, only your account would be able to use it offline, but everyone can when connected to LIVE. I hope this helps, thanks!

Hey Mister Gwyther.. thank you for the response.    That kinda helps  inaway.. but i still have  a few questions... I was watching a video on the  INSIDE XBOX with Major Nelson ...about  how to use your xbox live profile on  another xbox.... like if you go to a freinds house and want to play on HIS  xbox with your profile.   You have to IMPORT it or something to that effect... My question is ,   is  that HOW i would do it between the  living room one and bedroom one?!    and if SO, and how exeactly would i  do that?

ALso  IF i have to do that way,,   i would  have to  download EVERYTHING al over again?!!?  like all the MW3  and GEARS and all the paid games i paid for like   GOTHAM CITY IMPOSTERS and WORMS  and specially  all the  AVATAR STUFF i won  through the games like the gears  awards and items i  paid seperately for like my GENE SIMMONS costume hehe ?  etc etc  .. wouldnt it say that i already downloaded  cause i wouldnt be able to use redeem codes again! thats where i am confused!!

I havent gotten the NEW SLIM  for the bedroom yet... but it is on order and should arrive   this week.  I am looking forward to it... just that i have an older  white  12.1 amp model. in the living room that  is  what i use during the day  I just hate moving it all the time back and forth  back and forth .. and when my son comes over i wanna be able to play games with him  too!  I wanna get him an xbox live account to use on the living room one  but NOT ON my bedroom!!  is that possible to do  ?!?!?!   but he wouldnt have access to my  DLc stuff  would he?!?!  i do NOt want him to use my  AVATAR customes and stufff

I know thats alot of questions.. Thankyou for your time and patience with me!

Sorry for the confusion, but you do not have to "import" anything. All you need to do is download your profile on any console you want following these steps (forums.xbox.com/.../153143.aspx) and that's it. If you want to use your content on a new console, you can download it from the Marketplace or your Download History, found under Account Management.

The other thing you will want to consider is your game saves. If you plan on playing games on both consoles, you'll want to access your saves easily. The best method here is to enable Cloud Storage (forums.xbox.com/.../156009.aspx) and then you can access your saves from both consoles at any time without moving or importing anything.

You could also use a USB device (forums.xbox.com/.../153178.aspx) to manually move the files back and forth to each console. This is a little more work, but you can have more storage space than the Cloud. When you get to this point, be sure to check out Forum 11 (forums.xbox.com/.../13.aspx) for Game Progress and Cloud Storage for more help.

I think once you get the new console and try this out, you'll see that this is pretty easy. Just download your profile and content to both consoles and, as long as they are both connected to LIVE, you will be able to use any content you want. Do let us know if you experience any problems with it though, as we are always happy to help.

Let me know if this helps clear things up or if you have more questions. Thanks again!

Hey Mr. Gwyther.

OK i didnt mean IMPORT persay .. but yeah download it is what i really meant.. I guess thats what i was meaning wheni said import.. Sorry for that misunderstanding.

I got my XBOX this morning..  and i  used the transfer cable they sent me  with it .  I moved all the files that it would let me to the new slim hdd (thats goign to be in the bedroom) .    that worked fine   iMy profile was already on the new system so i didnt have to "Download" it.  but i just had to  log back in with password and stuff.   The only thing i can see it DID NOT  sover was all my GAME INSTALLS. ..  no big deal as i reinstalled them to the new slim hdd.. all seems to be ok as far as the SLIM goes.

The old  XBOX  360  (the 12.1 amp i am using in the living room),  I logged back into that with my profle  by "downloading " it it works fine..    I used some of my game saves from that CLOUD  Storage that i had already had previously saved  for  few weeks now.   That is working fine.   The only tthing i need to do is redownload  all the DLC again to the OLD system since it was all transfered to the NEW SLIM HDD

I got some of them already and it seems to be ok. so far.  But here is the thing i noticed.:

I have some  FULL games that were DLC  only  and i was able to play them before on the  OLD (livingroom) system.  when i was off line.  NOW i can NOT play them on the NEW SLIM  system offline.   BUT I CAN only if i am logged in to the XBOX LIVE .  .  I think thats cause of the  DRM Transfer licences.  From what i read this morning is that i need to transfer them to the new slims system.  for it to work OFFLINE.

BUT here  is the question.   DO i really need to do that>?  IF i am the only one playing on the BEDROOM  SLIM system and i will be ONLINE with that one!   iDo i have to transfer the license to the slim?!

Games like  CLONE WARS i  played off line on the old living room system should be fine to work OFFLINE for my son in the future?!   that way he can play that in the living room off line .. of course ..while i would be in the living room playing GEARS online?!    The reason why i am asking is that the CLONE wars game was downloaded with MY PROFILE  and  i want my son to be able to play them games  that i downloaded with my profile on his own ... profkile or a made up   PLAYER1 profile that is NOT  LIVE accessable.. would be be able to do it??

I have alot of questions.. but for now thats seems to be the ones on the top of my head so far

Thank  you for your help  , time and patience./  :)

Glad the console is set up and working well for you!

Regarding transferring licenses, here's some points to keep in mind. First, you can only play games offline on all profiles if the console is holding the licenses. So if you purchased them on your Old console, that's where the licenses are. If the Old console will always be connected to LIVE, but the bedroom console will not be connected to LIVE, then transferring the licenses there might be beneficial. You do have to have the console connected to LIVE to do this transfer though.

Let me know if that helps answer your question, and do let me know if you have more. Thanks!

Morning..  the  console in the bedroom will be the one that will be playing on live..  and it is on live now.. BOTH  consoles  WILL be on Live.  But  apparently it has to be MY own profile for the one in the bedroom as when i did the transfer of the files form the old hdd to the new hdd...  the licenses  stayed with the old living room xbox.  so i can NOT play  CLONE WARS etc etc  with Different profile nor can i play OFFLINE MODE. on  the slim one in the bedroom .. thats not a problem as i would be only using that console BY MYSELF  online all the time...AND i can STILL play clone wars in the bedroom  :)

The living room console.. i CAN play the CLONE WARS now actually .OFFLINE   with ANY profile on my xbox.. cause i redownloaded it on that livingroom xbox since the game itself was moved to the new slim bedroom xbox during transfer.   and THATS WHAT i want cause  that way my son can play clone wars OFF LINE with his own profile  (just a normal profile NOT an XBOX LIVE PROFILE)  while i am in bedroom playing  insane horde in gears 3 :O)

Does that make any sense?  hehe  It is more the opposite of what your saying in your post but the situation is basically the same ::o)

so i think everything is working fine now!!

ok   i have somethign i  hear now..  in the  new 320 HDD  inside the  new slim  every now and then i hear a  CLUNKING sound  ... it is NOT steady sounding  like where it is constant.. but more like intermittent...   sounds like the HDD   platter noise.. or the heads on the  hdd clucking... everything is working fine aside from that.. and i hear it occasionally NOT  constant...    Does anyone know if that is NORMAL?!?!     i took the HDD out and tried to boot it.. of course it couldnt get  booting up  wihtout  drivers for the  kinect.. but i did NOT hear the clunking sound..    so that leads me to belive it is the HDD!!

any insight?!?!

HDDs have a spin down timer. If you hear this after a long period of inactivity (say, you pause a game for 20 minutes then come back), it's ok. If you're hearing it while in-game when the drive should be spinning already then it's not ok and you should exchange it at your retailer.
