Problem with 2 WLIDS

I've had xbox live for running on 8 years and the WLID that is associated with it is somewhat(very) out of date.  As far as I know, all of my contact information is current and there isn't a real problem.  It still works.  However, I would like to update it to have everything working under my current and hopefully final email address.

Here is the problem:

I recently took part in the dashboard beta, and when I signed up, I guess I signed up with my current email and WLID.  I didn't really catch it at the time, but it assigned me a new gamertag to that ID. (SquarishStatue4)  Now when I try to chage my WLID linked to my actual gamertag(supercomp) it tells me that the one I want is invalid because it is already linked(by me to SquarishStatue4).   I'm hoping somebody can help me delete SquarishStatue4 from the WLID that I want, without having to do it console side, because it doesn't exist.

You can't delete a WLID from a profile. You would have to change the WLID for the account that is using the email you want to use in order to free it up for you to use it on the correct account.

Can I change SquarishStatue4's WLID from a computer to free up its current WLID(the WLID I want to use)?  Or is the WLID I want to use dead forever because its trapped on a GT that doesn't exist?

You can try signing into account.live.com with that account to change it's WLID.

How does the GT not exist if you're using it?

I guess maybe it exists here, but I have no way of signing into it on my xbox.  It was created when I joined the xbox dashboard beta.  When I registered, it asked for info and I gave it current info and I guess it just created the GT....I certainly didn't pick the name.  I guess I didn't realize what I was doing though, because my actual GT is under an old WLID.  My goal is to try to get everything current, so this doesn't happen again.  The old WLID is under an email address that no longer exists(8 years old), and while it still works, I'd rather have it under my current address.

If it won't work through that website, you can use the recovery tool in order to sign into on the Xbox by signing out of all accounts, pressing the guide button on your controller, and choosing Recover Gamertag.
