Paypal requires a creditcard?

I want to add paypal to my account because i DONT have a creditcard. Why the hell does paypal need a creditcard to be registered on my xbox account. is there any way to fix this?

The verified answer was incorrect actually. In order to add PayPal, it requires a credit/debit card attached to the PayPal account as the payments for Xbox Store items require instant payment. This is only possible when a card is on file with PayPal. Otherwise, the bank account by itself has a 7 day echeck period.
