Pause/Suspend Xbox LIVE Gold

I recently contacted customer service because I wanted to pause/suspend my gold membership since my xbox is broken and I didn't want to waste my membership during the time that it will take me to get a new xbox. (I have a 2008 xbox that got the E74 error but its now out of warranty so i'd rather get a new one than pay $100 to get it "fixed", but its going to take me a month or two to get the money).

The outcome? Disappointment. They can't do this simple task, or more like they don't want to do it because they want to keep taking my money for a service I can't use. THIEVES!

Nope they cannot pause or suspend you account if you opted for a paid repair you would get a 30day prepaid code

Plus your 1 year warranty in which case you can purchase extended warranty before the warranty ends to save on repairs

You have two options here since you do not want to pay for the repair on the old console, which by the way is your choice, but in making that choice it effects your Live subscription:

-wait until you have the money saved up for the new console, leaving the Live sub active.

-call support and cancel your Live sub.

They don't want to because that is not how they choose to do business. It has nothing to do with wanting to keep your money. If that was the case they wouldn't allow us to cancel our subs in the first place.

well heres my thing.. i just bought a prepaid year and im 1 month into it... and my xbox is .... well its on its last leg so i want to get a new one and i hardly get to play it i would like to just suspend it for 2-3 month so when i get a new one i still have my 10 or 11 month left.... that to much to ask?

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. They're crooks. I'm not getting any more Xbox products and I'm pretty disappointed with Microsoft in general. No wonder they have lost so much market share.
