my xbox will not recover my gamertag,it says downloading updates.please wait then it tells me that there is a problem with the updates please try again later i have waited and tryed this five times already can anyone help me please

my xbox wont recover gamertag

So are you getting these "update" messages after you select to recover, or when you turn the console on?
