I changed my gametag and I'm trying to recover the account, but the Xbox has been on the "Recovering Account" screen for 35 minutes?

Any suggestions?

Recovering an account can take a while depending on the size of it (achievements and whatnot). You can always turn the console off, delete any profile or corrupt file that might exists, and recover it again. Reminder: only delete the profile, not the content!

Thanks for the suggestion. I let it attempt to recover for about 2.5 hours and the cycled power. I  restarted the recovery process and it finished in about 3 minutes.

You need to be signed out, then press the Guide Button and select Recover Gamertag. It will then ask you your Windows LIVE ID and password in order to recover it.
