How do you record you gameplay

There really is no other way than having an external capture device.  It could be a camcorder, camera phone video, or a computer with a video capture card/device.  You can not record gameplay on your Xbox.  I know it's not what you want to hear, but you need something besides an Xbox and your TV.

You're going to need a HDPVR to record gameplay. Unfortunately I don't know the best recording devices, so you might need to ask others.

There are a number of items you can buy that will capture your gameplay. Roxio has a Game Capture device you can purchase (it's cheaper than the HD PVR, which will also allow you to capture high definition gameplay) which is supposedly easy to set up.

You should get a Hauppage HDPVR. They go for $200 retail and they are sold at gamestop.com.

Like everyone before me, the best answer is by far a capture card. These can range in price from anywhere of 30$ to 300$ depending on the quality. Blitzbox probably have the best quality capture cards. They have live streaming capture cards too

Using only the Xbox and your TV alone you will be unable to record  your audio/video output as there is no feature on the console itself. What can be done is for a lower quality recording your TV directly with a cell phone or camera or for a more direct connection you can use a Dazzle. Or for a more professional looking quality there is the Hauppauge HDPVR or for a someone with a tower desktop there is the Blackmagic Intensity Pro.
