Disc wont read

I had the same thing occur with my XBox 360 about a month ago, I am not 100% what cured the problem -  but all of the sudden it started working.  I have a feeling it is an updated that went wrong. you might want to do a bit of a clean up on downloads. I have asked Microsoft tech people but no answer.

I believe this was an update that Microsoft pushed not long ago. If you clear your cache, it should clear itself up.

my old xbox wont read the disc, i hear it trying to hold the disc in place (the little circle thing that holds it in place and makes it spin sorry for not knowing the proper term) i hear it pushing up on the disc but not going in it, i keeped on opening up the try and closing it but it dosent work, and when it does work i notice that theres a little chip in the disc right in the center. i dont want to ruin any of my games so i would like to know ow to fix this problem,
