Changing gamertag

I was just wondering if there is way to preview a new gamertag or to see if its avaible before you fork out MS points for a name that may already be taken.

When you go to change it, change it to what you want and then continue to the next screen, it'll tell you if it is taken or not and you'll be prompted about wether you are sure you want to change it. So you are told wether it is taken or not before you pay. It doesn't just take it out right away.

cause people like to

i changed mine three times now, my first was coley18(made just cause i had a month live and didnt know if ill keep xbox live or not and i was 18) then changed to coley88 cause i turned 19, then went on to this gaming tag cause the old one bored me

i dont see the promblem with changing your tag up to the person paying
