Unable to create new Compressed (Zipped) Folder in windows xp pro

I am unable to create a new compressed (zipped) folder in my windows xp pro.  I can right click on the desktop or within a folder and when I slide down to "New" the option for a compressed (zipped) folder is not there.

Hi,

I would suggest you to follow the methods mentioned:

Method 1:

Run Online Microsoft Safety Scanner

http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Click above link, “Download” and Run.

Disclaimer: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss

Method 2:

Perform a SFC scan and run the sfc/scannow command.

NOTE: You might be prompted to insert the Windows XP installation disc while performing the scan. Keep the installation disc handy.

If still issue remains same follow method 3.

Method 3:

Create new user account:

=======================================
If you are seeing the oprion  "New"  your pointer is in the
wrong place.

Place your pointer on a Selected (highlighted) file or group
of selected files or a folder and from the menu choose...
Send To / Compressed (zipped) Folder.
