when i try to send a link from a page by email, i am now being asked for a log in name and password. It appears my previous server, bartrax is now gone. How can i change my server and also could i use microsoft or yahoo etc.
I,m still a bit of a novice so excuse my lack of knowledge on these matters

You will need to redo your email account settings; below is a how-to for Microsoft's Vista Windows Mail.
To use Windows Mail and Yahoo you need a paid version of Yahoo: Yahoo! Mail Plus.

Above link has an easy to follow Guide for setting up Windows Mail.
Contact your ISP(Internet Service Provider).
They provide you your Broadband/Dial-up connection.
Ask them for:
username
password for your Broadband/Dial-Up Account with them
incoming mail server POP3
outgoing mail server SMTP
The above info is required to set up Windows Mail.
ISPs are normally happy to help you set up your Email Account.
