How do I access my open applications in Windows 8?

I have "fresh paint" running and saved the file. I went to search for the saved file and found it. I then clicked on the file name and a photo app opened.  How do I get back to my open fresh paint app ?

Hello, 

I guess you're new to Windows 8, I hope you're enjoying it :)

To switch between open apps, move the cursor to top left corner of screen. You'll see the small app icon there, click or drag it to go to the app. The apps are listed in the sequence you've opened them. If you move the cursor to top left corner to slightly down, you'll see all opened apps in the list.
